The Minotaur is one of the most famous monsters in Greek mythology, depicted with the body of a man and the head of a bull. Basic facts about the myth Origin: He was the son of the Cretan queen Pasiphae and a majestic bull sent by Poseidon. His real name was Asterion ("star").
